"Chico >> The City Plaza restrooms are no longer open 24 hours now, but when they were, downtown businesses noticed a reduction in urine and feces on their stoops. In January, the city opened the restrooms 24/7 to address issues with public defecation and urination downtown.
"Chico >> When a business hits Year 35, it’s done something right, but sometimes pinning down what that is can be difficult. In the case of two Chico businesses that were celebrated earlier this month, it’s a combination of creativity, listening to customers, and being alert all the time.
"Tuesday, May 16, 2017 Chico >> A possible way for downtown Chico to improve safety and clean up the sidewalks received the blessing of the Chico City Council on Tuesday, but not unanimously. And downtown property owners still must vote on the formation of a property based improvement district.
"Tuesday, May 2, 2017 Chico >> Chico is hurting when it comes to roadway and tree maintenance needs, according to city staff. Tuesday, the City Council heard from the public works and community development departments about their budgetary needs. The final budget meeting will be June 6, when the council will have to make some tough calls about funding.
"Thursday, March 30, 2017 - Chico >> Assemblyman James Gallagher emphasized the importance of independent investigation into the Oroville Dam spillway crisis, changing operations at the dam and investing in state infrastructure maintenance on Thursday.

"Monday, February 13, 2017 Chico >> While evacuees from the Oroville area are asking where to go and what to do, local businesses and residents in Chico are asking “How can we help them?” On Sunday, nearly 200,000 residents in a swath from Oroville south beyond Marysville were given evacuation notices because of the possible failure of the emergency spillway at Oroville Dam.

September 16, 2016 (CHICO, CA) For the second time in 2016, Chico State officially signs on to partner with the City of Chico on major community priorities. In January of 2016, Chico State and the City of Chico, and both police departments, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to increase public safety in the mile radius around campus.
