Chico Police Department Hosts Community Safety Meeting - Nord Corridor/South Campus
September 8, 2016 (CHICO, CA) Next Friday, businesses, property owners and community members in the Nord Corridor and South Campus business district are welcome and encouraged to attend a Community Safety Meeting with the Chico Police Department: Friday, September 16th , 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the Azad’s Martial Art Center located at 313 Walnut Street #150 in Chico.
These Safety Meetings were created by Team Chico to improve communication and collaboration with the Chico Police Department in areas where safety is a concern for businesses, residents, and community members. Future Community Safety Meetings will be announced.
All Safety Meetings are free, open to the public, and do not require RSVPs.
Chief of Police for the City of Chico, Mike O’Brien, states, “The Chico Police Department values partnerships with our community. These ‘Community Safety Meetings’ are an important way for citizens to connect with their police department, and the police department to connect with their community. This citizen interaction is critical in furthering the community policing model we have adopted, and we welcome these types of events for that reason.”
Team Chico is an economic development partnership between the City of Chico, Chico Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Chico Business Association, 3CORE, Alliance for Workforce Development, Inc and California State University Chico.
