Chico Make A Difference Day 2017

October 16, 2017 (CHICO, CA) Saturday, October 28, 2017 Chico’s community and local organizations will be taking part of a national movement, Chico Make a Difference Day, #MDDayChico.

Chico Make A Difference Day is the largest single-day of volunteering in the country. This campus-community day of service will celebrate Chico’s community spirit and will unite students and local residents around common causes that make our city special.

Students may be paired with groups coordinating service projects within walking distance of the CSU, Chico campus. Anyone wishing to get involved will see a list of service projects open to the public and will be able to contact the coordinating group through the Chico Make a Difference Day website, see below.

Participants will enjoy a free commemorative t-shirt and a free celebratory BBQ, starting approximately 12:30 p.m., hosted by the Chico Police Officers Association in the Downtown City Plaza.

Designated Chico Make a Difference Day media locations include:

1. Bidwell Park Cleanup - Meeting behind the CARD Center at 545 Vallombrosa.

2. Packing Boxes For ‘Operation Christmas Child’ – Meeting at Evangelical Free Church at 1193 Filbert Ave.
