AUGUST 3, 2018 CHICO, CA The Chico Chamber of Commerce released the 2018 Local Election Guide this week to share Q&A with City Council candidates and to promote the upcoming Chico City Council Candidate Forum on September 5th. The Guide is being mailed to all Chamber members and will be distributed at the Forum. The public is encouraged to download the Guide from chicochamber.com. (Chico Chamber 2018 Election Guide)
Katie Simmons, President & CEO of the Chico Chamber of Commerce, says the Guide is intended to inform the business community and public on how Council candidates plan to address top issues. The Guide is also a way to communicate business priorities to the candidates.
Simmons says, “we asked six very intentional questions of our candidates to cover topics we know are most pressing for our businesses and the community at large: City finances, crime, road conditions, talent attraction, cannabis, and homelessness. The Chamber remains concerned about the City’s ability to fund our priorities going forward and we want to keep this conversation at the forefront. Similarly, crime continues to impact business and we want to know what potential Council members bring to the table.”
The Chico City Council Candidate Forum is free and open to the public and is scheduled for Wednesday, September 5, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the CARD Community Center, 545 Vallombrosa Avenue in Chico.
