| | BAD CHECK ALERT The Butte County District Attorney's Bad Check Unit has issued an alert to be on the lookout for checks written by JUSTIN PAUL MONACO. Monaco has been writing checks throughout Chico and Gridley on a variety of accounts. He has also been forging checks on the account of a former girlfriend. Account names Monaco has used include JUSTIN MONACO, JP MONACO, JP MONACO & ASSOCIATES, MONACO & ASSOCIATES, INC., PROPERTY MANAGEMENT. Monaco has also forged checks on an Umpqua Bank account belonging to BROOKE ELLIOTT. There is a current criminal case pending against Monaco. If you encounter Monaco attempting to write a check to your establishment, please contact your local law enforcement agency. Chico Police Dept. Chico State Spring Musical: "A Little Night Music" Thursday, May 8 through Saturday, May 10 at 7:30p.m. in the Harlen Adams Theatre. This is a sophisticated European tale of romance and Eros, all in waltz rythms. A Little Night Music, written by Stephen Sondheim, is one of the most beautiful scores in all Musical Theatre. 3rd Street Gallery "Wine & Art" All are welcome to the Arc's 3rd Street Gallery's first monthly Wine Tasting, Friday May 16th @ 5-7p.m. Come enjoy music, food, fine wine (of course) and unique art by local artists. "This is a great chance for everyone to relax, enjoy some fine wine and take a tour of the gallery," says Charlie Williams, 3rd Street Gallery manager. Wall Raising Ceremony - Habitat for Humanity of Butte County Join the Habitat for Humanity of Butte County on Saturday, May 10th at 10a.m. to participate with the Wall Raising Ceremony of their next home. Mary Boss Memorial Scholarship The family and friends of Mary Boss have established an endowed scholarship to benefit students with a desire to become Elementary School Teachers and to make a difference in the lives of children. Scholarship Criteria: Applicants must be a female student with an interest in becoming an Elementary School teacher. Applicants must demonstrate academic performance by earning a minimum gpa of 2.5 or higher in their coursework.
